Department of Commerce, Internal Partnerships: NOAA cooperates with other agencies within the Department of Commerce to provide communities with tools for sustainability.

a) The Economic Development Adminstration (EDA) was established to generate new jobs, help retain existing jobs, and stimulate industrial and commercial growth in economically distressed areas of the United States. EDA assistacne is aail to areas of the Nation experienced hight unemployment low income, or sudden and severe economic distress. EDA and NOAA work together in coastal communities to ensure that new development projects are truly sustainable, taking into account the economic, environmental and social factors involved.
